Rumor: MacBook Air Update Coming This Week? (finally)

A well known source to Macworld Australia reports that Apple might be updating the forgotten, MacBook Air.  The MacBook Air is long over due for an update. The last MacBook Air update was June 2009. With the MacBook Pro update just a few weeks ago, this would make sense.   Sources note that the current model (1.86 & 2.13 ghz) are becoming harder to find in retail outlets. This usually is the result of an update coming.

Their source found a new product number in Apple’s database, MC516LL/A K87 BETTER BTR-USA. Macworld notes that the “BETTER” portion of the product code means it’s likely to be a new Mac, rather than the 27-inch displays that have also been rumored recently.
