That’s right folks! The ever popular Steam platform is now live on the Mac! Released today; May 12th 2010. Valve and Steam are changing the face of gaming on the mac as we speak. Here’s a look at the interface.

So far Steam seems to be running fantastic on the Mac. I cannot wait to see what kind of potential this gives gaming for the Mac platform. There are already many games that are compatible, many more are in the pipeline. Valve is also starting a new model with the release of the Steam client for the Mac. That is; cross platform playing. Now you can purchase a game on your Mac or PC and play it on either one! No more double licensing or having to purchase the game for each platform! I don’t know why we didn’t have a model like this in the first place, it makes so much sense.
