Apple Announces New MacPro Updates

The Mac Pro has just received big a refresh and we can now have the processing power of up to 12 cores via two Intel Xeon 5650′s and 5670′s coming in at 2.66GHz and 2.93GHz respectively. Also available are a Quad 6 and 8 core version. All have the ability of turbo boost gaining proximately .26GHz. Level 3 cache per processor is at an 8mb level for the quad cores and 12mb for all other models. The new single processor Mac Pros come in with a price tag of $2499 US before customization and the dual processor machines come in at a $3,499 US before customization. Both machines are utilizing 1066 MHz DDR3 ram that vary on amount according to model and customization, utilize ATI Radeon HD 5770s with 1gb of GDDR5, two mini display ports and one DVI (dual-link) port, 1TB serial ATA 7200 rpm hdd’s, 18x SuperDrive with double-layer support, four PCI express 2.0 slots, five USB 2.0 ports, four FireWire 900 ports, Bluetooth, 802.11n, keyboard, and Magic Mouse. Other available upgrades include the ATI Radeon HD 5870 and a 512GB SSD. These machines will start shipping in August.
